We are pleased to announce a new program that we are publicizing to our Valparaiso University freshmen: Valpo's Information Technology Fellows Program, initiated by our Chief Information Officer, Dr. Dennis Trinkle. IT Fellows have the opportunity to master a wide range of cutting-edge technologies and to work side-by-side with faculty and professional staff during each of their four years on campus. As students progress through each year of the program, they will be presented with opportunities to work on more advanced projects and will begin assuming leadership roles. Fellows receive training on tasks such as web design, hardware/software support, graphic design and digital video. The 25 students selected for the first-year apprenticeship will earn $6.00/hr. All students are welcome to apply to the program and need not already be technology gurus. We are seeking students with enthusiasm, leadership skills, and a desire to learn and master the latest technologies. Interviews for the program will be scheduled for the end of March. For more information and to apply, students may visit www.valpo.edu/it/fellows.

July 1 the Army ROTC program will join the Air Force ROTC program on Valpo's campus! As with the AFROTC, Valpo will partner with the AROTC program hosted by Notre Dame University. Scholarships are available, as well as monthly living stipends and support for books. For more information students should contact Captain Emmitt Osborne at (574-631-4656 or eosborne@nd.edu

We've had a great turnout for our Destination Valpo Days (DVD) - the overnight visit program for admitted students! The March 25-26 program, the last structured DVD for the year, is just about filled to capacity because of the limit of overnight hosts. However families who feel strongly about visiting at this time may register for the second day only of the program by calling the Admission Office. If this date does not work for them, we would be happy to work out an individualized overnight visit for them at another time. Our visit coordinator can help them work out the details. The next Valpo Visit Day (VVD) for high school juniors and sophomores is Saturday, April 14. This is a general overview program and is not appropriate for admitted students. Our Summer VVDs are July 16 and July 20, but again families area welcome to visit at other times when the Admission Office is open.
