The college fair season is upon us! Don't be surprised to receive an email from VAN Assistant Tyler Tappendorf or myself asking for helping representing VU in your community. Tyler is working with me this summer and we are buried under hundreds of college fair invitations. If you're wondering whether volunteering for Valpo in this way is something you'd enjoy, check out our webpage that explains the process.

Usually it takes anywhere from $10-$30 to ship (UPS) a box of fair materials to you and we provided you with a postage paid (Post Office) return mail label ($20-$40) to return the box to us. With the new postage increases , I will be relying more on UPS to ship packages in both directions. So we will issue with each shipment a pre-paid UPS return label for you to use; it will be very important to ship the materials back within a couple of days or UPS won't honor the label (but will still charge us the fee). This should save the University quite a bit of money, and will hopefully be easy for you as you can drop off the box at a UPS pick-up station or call UPS to pick it up from you. Let me know how this new process works.

This month it was great spending time with VAN members Lisa Geiger (Illinois), Jon Hendricks (at his wedding to my coworker, Becca Spivak), Suanne Hendricks (New York; at her son's wedding), and Marilyn Hanson (Indiana).

The VAN has 643 members ! Welcome to Guy Langvardt ('74; California), Dawn Riske Hoy ('80; Saint Louis), and Aaron Minix ('07; Illinois).
