TWIN CITIES VAN MEMBERS TAKE NOTE: we are working in tandem with the Valpo Club in your area, and will be running a reception for upcoming high school seniors on Sunday, August 12, at Bent Creek Golf Club in Eden Prairie. Russ Felten is working with our admission counselor for the area, BJ Engelhardt, to plan the event. VU Deans Tom Boyt (Business), Kraig Olejniczak (Engineering), and Jon Kilpinen (Arts & Sciences) will be in attendance. Our theme is “Bringing Valpo to the Twin Cities!” We also hope to involve current VU students who've not yet left for the fall semester at VU.

Remember to visit me when you visit Valpo ! Meetings kept me from visiting with recent visitors as much as I wanted to: Jan Duesenberg (Saint Louis), Jim LeMunyon (Virginia), and Lauren Caywood & Gail Kueffner-Haw (Michigan).

The VAN has 577 members ! Welcome back to VAN member Bernie Doyle (VU '84, Hebron, IN) who has been making the move back to Indiana from his home for many years in Hawaii. Also, following VU's May Commencement we will add 60 graduating seniors who have signed up to join the VAN.

THANK YOU to those who took time to contact admitted students this year. { Question: it's been suggested that VAN members redirect these calls specifically to the parents of admits next year; what do you think of that idea? Would it make contacts easier ?} By the way, students are encouraged to make their college choice by the national deadline of May 1 st . If you would like to know the application status of “your students,” drop us an email and we'll let you know ( admissions.network@valpo.edu ) – or you can always give me a call at (toll free) 888-468-2576.
