Lutherhostel Coming to Valpo
The second Association of Lutheran Older Adults Lutherhostel—themed “The Role of Story”—will be held July 9-13 at Valparaiso University.
ALOA is an inter-Lutheran national movement focused on identifying and serving the needs and interests of Lutheran older adults.
Participants in the July Lutherhostel will include E. Louise Williams ’67, executive director of the Lutheran Deaconess Association; Karl Lutze ’80 (honorary), associate professor emeritus of theology at Valpo; and Joseph Prahlow M.D., associate professor, Indiana University School of Medicine at Notre Dame.
Morning and evening devotions will be led by Walter Keller, Valpo professor emeritus of theology.
The “day away” trip will be to Fair Oaks Farms, a fully integrated dairy, and Hilltop Neighborhood House, which provides health and child care services to low-income residents in Valparaiso.
Housing for the Lutherhostel will be in the Kade-Duesenberg German House and Cultural Center on campus.
