Nobel Prize Winner to Speak at Valpo
Douglas Osheroff, professor of physics at Stanford University and recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1996 for his work in ultra-low temperature physics, will speak at Valparaiso University on Nov. 14 and 15.

Osheroff will discuss “How Advances in Science are Made” at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 14, in Room 234 of Neils Science Center on campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The talk is made possible by a generous gift from Kenneth A. Kress, who earned a degree in physics and math from Valpo in 1964. Osheroff is the sixth speaker in the Kress lecture series, which began in 2002.
On Nov. 15, Osheroff will speak to Valpo science and engineering students on the topic “So, What Really Happens at Absolute Zero?” at the physics and astronomy colloquium at 4 p.m., in Room 234 of Neils Science Center.
