productionhistory

Valparaiso University has a long history of presenting challenging plays, musicals, and operas. Faculty and student directors, designers, performers, and technicians strive for the highest possible production values. The Department enters its productions in the American College Theatre Festival every year and conducts post-mortem discussions following the close of each production in an effort to learn as much as possible from each project.

University Theatre productions are presented on the University Theatre mainstage, the Studio Theatre, as well as schools throughout the region and churches across the country.

Over the course of a four-year cycle, the Theatre Department produces an Ancient Greek play, a piece of European Neo-Classicism, Modern American or European works, two operas and two Broadway musicals, and a play by Shakespeare.

This gallery of past productions represents the best of the University Theatre's repertoire since 1995.
