Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate comprises the University President (ex officio), the Provost (ex officio), and twenty-six (26) faculty representatives, each of whom must be a full-time faculty member who has served as such for a minimum of five (5) years at Valparaiso University. The chair and vice-chair are elected by the faculty at large. Thirteen (13) members are elected at large within their respective college (or unit) as follows:

Eleven (11) are elected, one (1) each, from among the following departmental groupings within the College of Arts & Sciences and from Christ College:

- Chemistry/Physics & Astronomy
- Christ College/Philosophy/Sociology
- Communications/Geography & Meteorology/Theatre & Television Arts
- Education/Physcial Education/Social Work
- English
- Foreign Languages/Economics
- History/Political Science
- Mathematics & Computer Science
- Theology
