MSN students complete capstone project

The Master of Science program of study prepares advanced practice nurses as clinical nurse specialists. In the advanced practice role as clinician, educator, consultant, leader, and researcher, the nurse interacts with persons within the dynamic health care environment at all levels of prevention with persons, nurses/nursing practice, and organizations/systems.

Requirements for admission include:

  • Graduation from an accredited baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Satisfactory scores for international students on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
  • Transcript of prior academic work at a collegiate level with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Evidence of having completed an undergraduate statistics course.
  • Evidence of having completed an undergraduate research course.
  • Two letters of reference (one if VU graduate) that evaluate the applicant's scholarly and professional potential; at least one of which is submitted from student's Baccalaureate program.
  • Evidence of current registered nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in Indiana.
  • Essay relating graduate study to professional goals.
  • Completed application form.
  • Application fee.
  • Applicants who do not meet all of the admission requirements will be considered on an individual basis.
