- WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC
At Valparaiso University you can prepare for professions in music performance, music education, church music, and music-related businesses. If you hope to keep music in your life while you major in another field, you'll find lots of opportunities to participate in ensembles, studio lessons, and elective courses in music. All these options offer you performing opportunities and first rate personalized instruction provided by musician-professors who are interested in you as a musician and as a person.

Hundreds of people throughout Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland, along with the campus community, alumni and parents, make Valparaiso's Christmas Concert an annual part of their holiday celebrations.
On-campus scholarship auditions are held on two Saturdays in February. On-campus auditions are arranged by prior appointment with the Department of Music Office and are held on:
- Saturday, February 7, 2009
- Saturday, February 14, 2009
Auditions are also accepted via video (DVD or VHS standard videotape), prepared according to guidelines provided, if received by February 12, 2009.
The deadline to request a music scholarship audition is January 30, 2009.
