Mathematics and Computer Science

Current Opportunities

The Valparaiso college experiences for talented high school students program offers classes in computer science topics (fall '07) and mathematics topics (spring '08).

The Valparaiso Experience for Research by Undergraduates in Mathematics is running this summer. This National Science Foundation-funded program provides opportunities for mathematically inclined undergraduates to participate in research.

Prospective Students

With a 100% job placement record over the last four years, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is proud of its success at preparing students to reach their goals.

Over these years, the Department has helped students launch careers in teaching, political analysis, actuarial science, theological scholarship, consulting, software design and meteorology. It has sent students to graduate programs in mathematics, physics anthropology and computer science.

The Department is particularly proud of its complimentary major designed to enhance a student's primary area of study by providing a curriculum tailored to his or her needs.
