Valparaiso Law alumnus to chair new auto dealer legal services group

Wednesay, June 11, 2008

The law firm of Harrison & Moberly announces the formation of a new practice area -- the Auto Dealer Legal Services Group. The ADLSG will be chaired by William "Bill" Ivers, who recently joined the law firm after representing auto dealers throughout Indiana for the past 20 years. Collectively, the Auto Dealer Legal Services Group presently includes eleven (11) lawyers on a team that will work closely with auto dealers from around the state.

Bill Ivers has provided legal advice to motor vehicle, large truck and motorcycle dealers throughout the state of Indiana, and provides ongoing legal counsel on employment, consumer, factory and vendor issues. He also assists dealers in complying with a multitude of local, state and federal regulatory issues, and has represented the interests of the Automobile Dealers Association of Indiana, the Indianapolis Auto Trade Association and their numerous members. The firm and its lawyers are active members in the National Association of Dealers Counsel and the Automobile Dealers Association of Indiana.

Bill Ivers received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, and his JD from the Valparaiso University School of Law.

In making the announcement, Harrison & Moberly Managing Partner Richard McOmber said, "This is an important step for our firm. This is an area of law that is very business oriented and client-driven, and with Bill Ivers to oversee all the functions of the group, we are very excited to expand into this area. Bill brings to our firm a proven practice with an outstanding list of clients, which includes leading auto dealers from around the state."

Bill Ivers: "Harrison & Moberly is a perfect match for this group and practice area. The firm is currently in a growth phase, and has done a wonderful job of attracting top talent that will be an important part of this team. Automotive dealers demand a lot from their lawyers, and are very results-driven. We welcome that. I am very excited about the opportunity to grow this group with one of Indiana's more progressive law firms. I was at the stage of my career where I needed to take my practice to the next level, and Harrison & Moberly seemed to be the perfect match, the logical choice."

Founded in 1950, Harrison & Moberly serves corporate clients and individuals in a wide range of business, real estate, construction, long-term health care, tax, appeals and litigation matters.
