The Valpo Law Career Planning Center has established a new job posting system powered by Symplicity. This new system allows employers to enter job openings directly online. Unlike the previous system, you will be able to search the database for jobs that best fit your criteria. The job announcements are searchable by job type, practice area, and geographic location.

The new system also facilitates job searches by giving you the option to submit your resume to an online resume bank that is searchable by all registered employers. To be included in the resume bank, you must complete either a Public or Confidential Profile and paste your resume into the resume box in the profile form. The resume itself is not searchable; the fields in the profile form are. You will find detailed descriptions of these two profile types as you proceed through the registration form. Please note that you do not have to use the resume bank in order to search the job postings; it is completely optional.

If you do not have an Alumni password, please send e-mail to careerplanning.law@valpo.edu and provide your name and graduation year so that we can verify your affiliation with Valparaiso University School of Law. We will then e-mail you an authorization code, which you will use one-time only to gain access to our registration area. As part of your registration you will be able to choose your own permanent user name and password.

Reciprocity

Many law schools support a policy of providing job search assistance to students and graduates of other law schools through reciprocity. This allows law schools to provide reasonable access to their career resources for students and graduates from other law schools that agree to provide similar services. It is important to understand that each law school has its own reciprocity requirements. If reciprocity is granted, students/graduates should be sure to read and honor the reciprocity policy of the host school. If you would like us to request reciprocity for you, please contact us at careerplanning.law@valpo.edu or 219/465-7814, and we will assist you by sending a letter to that office.
