Scholarships

Valparaiso University School of Law Scholarship Possibilities

Scholarships are determined at the time of admissions. Students do not need to complete a scholarship application to be considered.  If a student qualifies for a scholarship notification is included in their letter of admission. Since scholarship funds are limited we encourage students to complete their applications early.

Our merit scholarships have a three year value and can range from $1,000 up to full tuition plus stipends(in some cases). When reviewing applications for scholarships we look at a variety of factors including cumulative GPA, LSAT scores, an individual’s life experiences, strength of their undergraduate institution, strength of their major and other competitive factors.  Scholarships are automatically renewed each year as long as the student maintains the required cumulative GPA as noted in their letter of acceptance.   Scholarships are reviewed in the spring after grades are received.

If a student did not receive a scholarship in their first year of law school they are considered for scholarships going into their second and third year of school if they fall in the top 20 percent of their class. These scholarships are only available to full-time students, however, if an individual started in the part-time program and later transfers into the full-time program, they will be considered for scholarships once they have completed one year as a full-time law student.

Additional information on non merit scholarships is also available.
