Trip Pictures
Below are pictures from our field trip to student research sites
and the Mall of America.
Corrie presents infomation on mining in Kasota at the
Kasota Prarie.
Ben looks toward the modern Treaty Center along highway
169 while telling the class about the treaty site where he is standing.
The Traverse de Sioux treaty site marker, set temporarily
to the side.
The Treaty site. The stone has been removed from its
pedestal and faces into the trees while the pedestal is being restored.
Mark tells the class about the agricultural landscape
of southern Minnesota at a rest stop along highway 169 near what we
think is a farm. Meanwhile Matt contemplates the genetic make up of
the grass in preparation for...
his presentation about the genetic landscape while standing
in front of the "farm."
After a drive through winding neighborhood roads Josh
tells us about the "failed" utopian community of Johnathan.
Neighborhood 1 in Johnathan.
Students seriously engaged in field work at the Rainforest
Cafe Smoothie bar. Note the worksheet on the bar and the pens borrowed
from the bartender. The refrain "Salamander Safari of 4 please
approach the Elephant, your adventure is about to begin." echoes
throughout the cafe. The "Magic of the Mall" is broken after
about an hour of waiting for our food to arrive.
Matt and Melinda escape the clutches of
"The Mother" wallets (mostly) intact.
