Joint Degree in Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA)
Program Description
Graduates of this dual degree program between the College of Nursing and the College of Business Administration receive both the MSN and MBA degrees. The curriculum prepares nurse leaders with a unique blend of nursing, administration, and leadership skills. Admission to the program is selective and requires that the applicant meet the standard admission criteria of the CON, CBA, and the Graduate Division.

Criteria for Admission
Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Graduate Division, which include:
- A BSN degree with a 3.0 GPA from an accredited nursing education program;
- Undergraduate coursework in health assessment, statistics, and research;
- Evidence of an Indiana registered nursing license.
International applicants must also have:
- A minimum of 550 or equivalent on the TOEFL;
- Satisfactory completion of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) examination or evidence of a National Council Licensure examination (NCLEX) License.
As part of the application process, students must provide:
- Valparaiso University Graduate Application and Supplemental MSN/MBA Dual Degree Application;
- Two letters of recommendation;
- Certified transcripts of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program;
- Results of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) for admission to the MBA program;
- Application Fee: $30 for U.S. citizens and $50 for international applicants.
