| L'Université de Cergy-Pointoise |
This exchange program was inaugurated in 2006. Students take French-language and other classes along with French students at Université de Cergy-Pontoise, a university of 12,000 students, 14% of whom are international students from 35 countries around the globe. Each year, up to two students from Cergy will come to VU for the fall semester, and we will send up to two from VU to Cergy in the spring semester (beginning of February through the end of June). More about the Cergy-Pontoise program
Students take a traditional course sequence in language, civilization, and literature with other international students at the Cours de civilization française at the Sorbonne and the Institut catholique. VU students take intensive French language courses as well as a wide variety of courses in French literature, history, art, political science, and so on. Students live in dormitories throughout Paris and may study for a semester or an academic year. More about the Central College program
Students take an intensive language class as well as courses in contemporary French politics, arts, or economic studies during the first eight weeks of the semester. During the second half of the semester, they work full-time in an internship. Areas available for internships range from banking to international relations to the arts to the hospitality industry to social services. Most students opt for housing with a family.
