Courses designated by an asterisk (*) may be taken twice for credit, provided the topic is new or there is no significant overlapping in the reading lists. The Valpo Core and English 200 are prerequisites for all literature and language courses numbered 401 or above; the Valpo core is the prerequisite for other writing courses (300, 301, 423, 424, 431, 491, 492).
