With a student faculty ratio of 6 to 1, VU economics students get plenty of opportunity to work closely with experienced, diverse faculty members who specialize in the areas of: Labor, History of economic thought, international economics, quantitative economic analysis, economics of development and pension and investment.
The greatest advantage offered by VU's department of Economics is the faculty. They have distinguished themselves individually as well as collectively. One of our faculty was the President of the prestigious International Organization, History of Economics Society and has also served as the President of the Association of Social Economics. Another faculty served as the second Vice-President of the Midwest Economics Association's and has served as the program organizer for the Committee on The Status of Women in the Economics Profession for the Midwest Economics Association's meetings.
