VU's Chinese and Japanese Studies Program is unique among colleges of VU's size in offering not only a comprehensive collection of courses on both China and Japan but also a full range of services to students across the whole campus. Established in 1986, the Program has grown into one of the leaders in teaching East Asia at the undergraduate level. With a recent, generous grant from the Freeman Foundation, the program is set to become even stronger in offering VU's students valuable learning experiences that combining academic activities with extensive undergraduate research and internship opportunities both in the US and in East Asia.
