Christ College welcomes academically talented students from all
majors in the College of Arts and
Sciences, and from Valparaiso University's professional colleges:
Business Administration, Engineering,
and Nursing.
Currently, 80 first-year students are admitted each fall making
the total Christ College enrollment 300-320 students, freshman through
senior year.
CC students are consistently among the most active on campus in
all areas of extra- and co-curricular activity, particularly vocal
and instrumental music ensembles, theatre, student senate, the student
newspaper staff, social concerns ministries of the Chapel, Habitat
for Humanity, Soul Purpose liturgical drama troupe, hospice, Hilltop
House neighborhood daycare and healthcare services, sports, academic
honor societies, and social fraternities and sororities.
Student
Steering Committee
The Christ College Student Steering Committee, comprised of 30
sophomores, juniors and seniors, plans and implements special college
activities, advises the Dean's Office about matters that impinge
upon the overall well-being of the community, and initiates new
programs. The committee meets monthly, conducts an open forum for
all CC students each year.
Student Scholarship Symposium
The
Annual Christ College Student Scholarship Symposium features analytical,
critical, creative, and research projects by current Christ College
students. Papers in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences,
and the arts are selected by a committee of Christ College students
from anonymous abstracts. Authors present their papers and respond
to questions from the audience in this new Symposium model, which
is intended to exemplify the quality and diversity of scholarly
work by Christ College students.
Read the abstracts of
the papers submitted in 2003 through 2007.
