Mr Hoffman earned his BA in philosophy and theology from Valparaiso
University and his PhD in philosophy from Fordham University, having
written a dissertation on Paul Ricoeur. His primary interests are
in the philosophy of religion, ethics, and social thought. He has
taught seminars on Marx and Freud, John Rawls and his dissenters,
democracy and education, environmental ethics, and personal love.
Mr Hoffman has published articles on the Danish author Søren
Kierkegaard in the Journal of Religion, the
Journal of Religious Ethics, Christianity and Literature,
and the International Philosophical Quarterly.
He is currently writing an extended commentary on Kierkegaard's
Stages on Life's Way.
