Elizabeth F. R. Gingerich
Assistant Professor of Business Law
Elizabeth Gingerich was formerly a law partner with the law firm of Terrell & Thrall LLP, located in Valparaiso, Indiana. A practitioner for over 22 years, her primary fields of concentration include general trial litigation, commercial transactions, tax, real estate, bankruptcy, business and estate planning, and employment law. She is a member of both the Indiana and Virginia State Bar Associations and maintains a limited practice in corporate law.

Ms. Gingerich has been a guest lecturer for Bethlehem Steel n/k/a Mittal advanced education seminars, the American Association of University Women, the Northwest Indiana Purchasing Management Association, national and international Intellectual Property Conferences in both the United States and in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Her work in the area of tort remedies has been published in The Indiana Law Review and her studies of abandoned railroad company easements has been recently published in Res Gestae, the legal journal for the Indiana Bar Association.
From 1992 through 2000, Ms. Gingerich was an editor and guest writer for the Association of Lutheran Older Adults (ALOA)’s publication, Encore Times. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, LCMS, Valparaiso, Indiana, together with her husband and two daughters. She is fourth generation teaching faculty at Valparaiso University, instructing undergraduate and graduate classes in Business Law and chair fundraiser for Engineers Without Borders – V.U. Chapter, which not-for-profit organization just completed its third phase of constructing windmill-powered water and irrigation systems in Northwestern Kenya.
