Sandra Strasser
Professor of Decision Science

Professor Strasser has been teaching in the area of decision sciences at Valparaiso University for sixteen years. She teaches courses in statistics, production and operations, quality control and supply chain management. In conjunction with her teaching, she has authored numerous study guides, instructor manuals, textbook chapters and many articles on innovative education. Her interest in railroads and railroad scheduling has led to her research in yield management and customer service within that industry. At that same time, Professor Strasser is also exploring statistical process control and issues of quality, supply chain management, and the importance of distribution within the chain.

Dr. Strasser has worked with Porter Memorial Hospital on their Quality Council for ten years, analyzing control charts, running workshops and working on special projects. In addition to statistical consulting, Professor Strasser also volunteers her time at Hilltop Neighborhood House as their database coordinator.
