When his grandfather died about three years ago, Chris Bauman ’04, ’07 M.B.A. took over Chordcraft, the company his grandfather founded in 1964. Chordcraft has since grown to 10 employees, 15 interns and 13 other shareholders. It recently launched a revolutionary product, FanFound.com, the first music and social networking Web site designed to help fans discover new music and better connect musicians with their fans. Among other things, FanFound.com provides fans with information about their favorite bands through text messages and e-mail alerts, and allows them to communicate with other fans. More

A Message From Dean Tom Boyt

Dean Tom Boyt

At the College of Business Administration, innovation is highly valued and promoted. To that end, I am pleased to announce that the Kern Entrepreneurship Education Network has awarded a second grant supporting our partnership with VU’s College of Engineering that prepares students to become entrepreneurs. This edition of Valpo Business features several alumni who are engaged in entrepreneurial ventures. Three alumni have received the prestigious Indiana Gov. Bob Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship and are working at various companies throughout Indiana, and Chris Bauman ’04, ’07 M.B.A. recently launched FanFound.com, the first music and social networking Web site. These alumni are just a few of the many graduates involved in the business of innovation. Please feel free to give me a call at 219.464.5040, or send an e-mail to tom.boyt@valpo.edu.
